Information for Referrers
Communicating With Referring Physicians
At Cardinal Neurosurgery, we communicate with referring doctors in a timely and professional manner. After a patients first appointment, his or her referring doctor will receive a letter, telephone call, or fax from our office within 24 hours of the consultation and as needed for subsequent visits. Upon completion of treatment, patients are sent back to their referring doctors for follow-up care. Case consultations are seen the same day if possible, but certainly within the next 24 hours. Emergency consultations are seen immediately.
Neurosurgical Presentations and Community Education
Dr. Kitchens speaks on neurosurgical topics to medical groups, as well as makes presentations at community education forums. Requests for his participation may be made directly to Dr. Kitchens or through his office. Providing neurosurgical updates for referring doctors and their staffs and useful medical information for the regional community are important components of the service we offer as a practice.
